About Systematic Agapism
Agapism is not a popularly known or utilized term, but it is what numerous authors, song writers, poets and preachers are speaking of when they talk about using or sharing the power of love. Anyone who believes in the power and preeminence of love as an ethical imperative, is an agapist.
Systematic Agapism is a term coined for this effort, and it reflects a desire to personalize agapism to fit a certain cultural context. It takes into consideration the nature of agapism as spiritual, selfless and charitable, while accounting for the historical, theological, and cultural nuances of those to share in love as a community. In this case, it seeks to create an ethical foundation for loving within the Black community.
